E-Safety

At St Adrian's, we strive to deliver the importance of E- Safety to our parents and children and what we can do to help our children stay safe online. The internet is an inspiring and positive learning resource which allows children to connect and communicate in a range of ways across different devices. However, the Internet is always changing and being able to keep up to date with your children's use of technology can be a challenge. This means that the school will aim to keep children and parents informed about safe Internet use.

What is E-Safety?

E-safety is the safe use of information systems and electronic communications, including the internet, mobile phones and games consoles. It is important that children and young people understand the benefits, risks and responsibilities of using information technology.

  1. E-Safety concerns safeguarding children and young people in the digital world.
  2. E-Safety emphasises learning to understand and use new technologies in a positive way.
  3. E-Safety is less about restriction and more about education about the risks as well as the benefits so we can feel confident online.
  4. E-Safety is concerned with supporting children and young people to develop safer online behaviour both in and out of school.
